Project
The project includes:
- The rehabilitation of two ports: the port of Ilot Madame and the Barachois port of Ambodifotatra, the main town of Sainte Marie Island, located in the central west of the island
Ilot Madame Port: construction of a 37-meter quay (including access to the ferry)
Barachois Port:- Dredging of the channel and basin
- Construction of a rockfill breakwater to protect the channel and basin
- Redevelopment of the banks to enable their future conversion into berthing facilities
- Complete rehabilitation of the paved road section between Lokintsy and Ambodiatafana (25 km), a coastal national road that crosses the island of Sainte Marie and connects the north and south
- Reconstruction of section 1 Bis between the start of the Belle-Vue breakwater and the end of the Ilot Madame breakwater, covering approximately 1 km
- Reconstruction of five existing bridges (reinforced concrete beam bridges, each with an average length of 9 m)
