REHABILITATION OF RAILWAY TRACKS AND STRUCTURES (BRIDGES AND CULVERTS) FROM TABORA TO ISAKA (135 KM)

Tanzania

Project

The project is part of the IDA credit granted to Tanzania for the Tanzania Intermodal and Rail Development Project (TIRP), which aims to strengthen logistics capacity and develop intermodal and rail container operations along the Dar es Salaam – Tabora – Isaka corridor (970 km).

It covers the detailed engineering design for the rehabilitation of 135 km of track between Tabora and Isaka: complete track renewal (90 lb rails, concrete sleepers, continuous welded rails), rehabilitation of bridges and culverts (strengthening to 18.5 t/axle, replacement to 25 t/axle), design of 7 stations including Tabora and Isaka, signalling, telecommunications and level-crossing safety.

Our mission

  • Phase 1 – Démarrage : mobilisation de l’équipe, collecte de données, visites de terrain, diagnostic des infrastructures existantes et rapport initial ;
  • Phase 2 – Études techniques détaillées : topographie, campagne géotechnique, hydrologie et hydraulique, drainage, renouvellement et géométrie de la voie, ouvrages d’art, gares, signalisation et sécurité, évaluation environnementale et sociale préliminaire, métré et estimation détaillée des coûts, calendrier de construction, rapport final ;
  • Phase 3 – Élaboration du dossier d’appel d’offres (DAO).
